Mock Trial Q&A

For TEAM technical support during competitions, please call: 443-485-1173

Team Standings

Schedule:
Preliminary competitions will run each Tuesday and Thursday, beginning on Tuesday, January 12. Everyone (judges, coaches, students) should log into PROcess no later than 4:45 so that competitions may begin promptly at 5:00pm.

Playoff competitions will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the first two weeks of March, time to be determined. Playoff rules may be found here.

Bailiffs and Tech Chairs:
We strongly encourage each team to have their own Bailiff and Tech Chair.  If that's not possible, here are some options:
  • Have one student serve as both Bailiff and Tech Chair
  • Have competing members of the team designated ahead of time to share documents during specific directs and cross examinations. Practice this.
  • A Bailiff or Tech Chair may switch roles if there is technical difficulty on the part of a witness or attorney and the Bailiff or Tech Chair has to slide into a witness or attorney role

Tie Point:
The tie point has been removed, probably forever. This means that a competition may result in split decisions.

Decision Announcements:

Judges will provide brief remarks following the conclusion of each competition, but will NOT announce the winner. The digital ballot will be submitted and standings will be updated on the PROcess website, which teams may then log in to view. Please allow up to 24 hours for the standings to be updated.
